Art Spectrum® Phthalo Green is an intense and powerful blue-green. Unlike many other greens which are produced with hints of yellow, Phthalo is produced from a single pigment. Incidentally, Phthalo is commonly used to create many other greens.
Phthalo gets its characteristic strength from its cousin, Phthalocyanine blue, from which the green is produced. It is an incredibly versatile pigment, offering the artist tremendous range in creating colours of great subtlety and power when needed. It is, for this reason, the most popular green pigment used by artists today. In accordance with proven traditional methods of production, all Art Spectrum® Artists’ Watercolours are carefully stone milled to enhance the individual brilliance of each selected permanent pigment and to maximise its handling qualities. Successful watercolours depend on selecting the best quality paper, the permanence and brilliance of the pigments and the use of a wide variety of quality brushes.
